Four early-stage businesses taking part in a Worcestershire technology accelerator named best in the UK*, showcased their latest technology products and solutions at an Innovation Forum and Technology Showcase on Wednesday 15 March.

The event was organised by BetaDen in conjunction with Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and incorporated two events: an Innovation Forum bringing together businesses to address current technology and innovation challenges; and a Technology Showcase where BetaDen’s current cohort founders shared progress updates and pitched for investment, customers and development partners.

Panel guests included Professor John-Paul Wilson, Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor Research at the University of Worcester; Nicola Hewitt, Innovation Board Member at Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership; Chris Walker, Managing Director Cyber and Strategic Command Business at QinetiQ; Ben Thompson, Agri-Tech Centre Manager at Hartpury University and Hartpury College; Lawrence Jackson, Infrastructure & Technology Lead at IONOS and Paul Munday, Technical Manager at Steatite.

Natalie Wadley, co-founder and CEO at Changemaker 3D, who attended the event, said: “It was amazing to hear about the current cohort of businesses and the purpose that sits behind each of their enterprises, with each business making the most of digital technologies to make a positive difference to the world around them. From hyperlocal businesses to those with truly global reach, BetaDen’s impact was clear for all to see, giving passionate, early-stage businesses the support, platform and visibility they need to develop and accelerate their offer to market.”

The four companies showcasing their latest innovations were:

• DX Compliance – an anti-money laundering platform featuring market-leading AI and machine learning that helps banks, fintech and other regulated entities comply.
• MindSafe – an online platform offering mental and well-being services for schools and young adults.
• PinSwarm – a local marketing platform that connects businesses, organizations, and individuals with their local communities.
• Triplo ESG – an online sustainability advice platform that helps smaller businesses understand, measure and improve their sustainability performance.

Donston Powell, communications manager at BetaDen, added: “The four founders who presented in our showcase are developing exciting products that address serious challenges facing a variety of industries across Worcestershire and beyond. We are excited to see how they progress over the coming months and are excited to have played a key role in their development.”

BetaDen was founded in 2018, since when it has supported over 40 business founders, creating over 100 jobs and attracting over £6m investment. Its alumni have gone on to secure high-profile contracts with the likes of Royal Mail, the NHS, HS2, National Rail, United Utilities and Imperial College London.

The accelerator will open applications to join Cohort 7.0 later this year. For further details and to register your interest, visit www.beta-den.com
