Paul held technical and management roles in the steel industry before establishing his own management consultancy.

In 1993 he joined Malvern Panalytical where he was Managing Director for 20 years. Paul was awarded an MBE for services to Industry in 2012 and was Chairman of the Hereford and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce for five years. He has been a Non-Executive Director of the Malvern Hills Science Park since 1999, is Vice-Chair of Warwickshire College Group and a Fellow of the University of Worcester.

Paul is a Chartered Engineer with BTech and MPhil degrees in Materials Science from Bradford University.
