Due to the recent pandemic, Covid 19, this event will now take place online with an official launch when possible.
We will deliver the following event via a webinar at an earlier time of 12pm on the 5th of May.
Tech Tuesdays is BetaDen’s new event series, occurring bi-monthly on the first Tuesday of the month. Open to all of those interested in the evolving technology landscape, each event will focus on one particular area of technology, kicking off the series we will be discussing blockchain and how it has the potential to change society.
In a future where society has rebelled against the cavalier exploitation of an individual’s right to their own data, where political influence is dissolved, and where national critical infrastructures by necessity of robustness and resilience to cyber-attacks can no longer be controlled centrally, a totally different form of information flow and governance is needed. That form is a ‘Blockchain,’ or rather; a principled decentralised ledger technology (DLT) to give it is more descriptive name.
Join ProfessorDavid Lowe of SYNDIALandBlockMark Technologies Ltdteam on the 5th of May to hear and discuss why DLT technology is inevitable, why ‘blockchain’ technology is both misunderstood and also faulty for purpose, and what is likely to emerge to meet future expectations.
This predictive talk will open up issues we all may face around privacy, the extension of self to include an individual’s data and the balance of ownership of data between individuals and society.
